Interesting new developments in Toronto for smokers. After being banned everywhere including restaurants and bars (great idea!), are inside cars next?

Ontario could become the latest province to ban people from smoking in cars carrying kids after Premier Dalton McGuinty vowed today to take a “second look” at adopting legislation he once called a slippery slope.
As a non smoker, sounds good to me! The less smokers the better. Nothing is worse than smelling the second hand smoke around town. I can’t believe people would smoke with kids in the car. Then again, the news is no stranger to bad parents and people who only think about themselves.

Why don’t they think about banning the act of throwing cigarette butts on the ground? Unfortunately, our society is so used to the fact of people just flicking cigarette butts anywhere and everywhere that is has somehow become “accepted”. It’s sad and a disgusting reality now. Just the other day, a guy from my apartment was walking his dog (I’ll be posting about this another time) and smoking. Just before entering the apartment building, finishes off the smoke and then just tosses the butt into the grass out front. I am no scientist but I doubt this helps the earth. To top it off, there’s a little cigarette disposal box right there too. Thanks buddy! There’s a simple lack of consideration for other people.
People talk about saving the environment but don’t talk about the fact that there are probably millions of cigarette butts trying to biodegrade on concrete.
